Santa Cruz, CA – October 3, 2014 // Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBoSC) is excited to extend its tent camping package to race spectators for the weekend of the BELL Santa Cruz Super Enduro, Friday October 10 to Sunday October 12 at Camp Loma, adjacent to the race venue at Soquel Demonstration State Forest (SDSF, colloquially referred to as Demo). The 2014 race — which sold out all 200 spots in less than 10 minutes — will cap off this year’s California Enduro Series (CES). The race will run on Saturday October 11; course trails will be closed for riding, but open to spectators to cheer on our racers.

To fully enjoy the BELL Santa Cruz Super Enduro weekend festivities, racers and spectators alike are encouraged to take advantage of this comprehensive camping package (free for racers; $40 per person for spectators) which includes a tent spot for two nights (Friday and Saturday) plus three meals (Saturday breakfast and dinner; Sunday breakfast), live music by Coffee Zombie Collective, Lagunitas beer ($3 suggested donation, see fundraising below), a post-awards bonfire and an outdoor screening of Anthill’s latest film “Strength in Numbers.” Bike demos including Intense Cycles, Marin Bikes and Santa Cruz Bicycles will be available on Sunday.

Racers and spectators will appreciate a spot to bunk down pre- and post-race at this remote venue, and the laid-back camping vibe goes hand-in-hand with the spirit of enduro. Tent camping ONLY is offered; RV’s and campers are NOT allowed at this event. Showers and flush toilets are available on site. Camping is NOT permitted in Soquel Demonstration State Forest.

With vehicle parking limited, campers are encouraged to carpool or shuttle up from Aptos with Shuttle Smith Adventures. NOTE: Highland Way is CLOSED due to construction during the weekedays from 8:30am – 4:30pm (with brief opening at noon-12:30pm) It will be OPEN on weekends and on weekdays from noon-12:30. Visit our website at more information and alternate routes.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions and will be rewarded with free camping, food, beer and swag.

Fundraising // Drawings for the brand new 2015 FOX 36 fork and a Marin Mount Vision C-XM8 (carbon trail bike) are scheduled to precede the podium presentation on Saturday. Proceeds from the FOX fork drawing jointly benefit MBoSC’s SDSF flow trail project and Stafford Lake Bike Park. Proceeds from the Marin trail bike benefit California Enduro Series (CES).
